Small Business Capitalizing On Social Marketing

The number of small, one or two person operated online businesses is growing at an astonishing rate. There are several reasons for this growth, one of the most common being costs. With an online business there is little in the way of setup costs and running costs can be kept to a minimum. These small businesses are using social marketing far more successfully than their larger counterparts.

One of the interesting aspects of starting an online business is that you can continue your day job while you wait for your online business to take off. A large number of e-entrepreneurs are able to undertake a lot of their social media marketing while at their day job. Pimping your own business on your boss’ time has become quite prevalent.

What is surprising is that the number of business failures online is smaller than those offline. A lot of this has to do with the amount of capital required to set up and establish a brisk and mortar business. These types of offline businesses often leave a business short of cash flow to continue operations and marketing.

Social networking and social marketing is easy and cheap to access, grow and develop. One person can control the social marketing activities quite easily, directing conversations and responding to questions in quite professional ways.

Social media marketing is here to stay and many small businesses are capitalizing on these opportunities while they can. Eventually, most businesses will see these benefits and start to join in – in the meantime, if you are the owner of as small business, join in before you get left behind.

Great post, small businesses that use social networks have greater advantage over those that don’t. I’ve seen small businesses create interest groups and communities on konnects.com focused all around their company and seen great amounts of success. Not only do they promote their product and service but they also develop a strong social pool.
