Social Marketing Journal

Link Round Up

Here at Social Marketing Journal, we are avid fans of reading some of the top blogs within the industry and gaining constant knowledge of what works and doesn’t work within social media as well as what is currently in the headlines.

The best way to learn about any given subject is to read, read, read! While SMJ is a great resource for social media information, we can’t help but encourage the other amazing blogs that keep us reading on a weekly basis. Here are some articles I’ve come across lately that are worth checking out!

Chris Brogan always has superb content that is ridiculously valuable and certainly not just “talk”. This article he writes about Five Ways to Connect and Add Value. It is perfect to read for those who are on the sidelines reading and watching but not knowing exactly how to get into the social media atmosphere themselves while contributing something worthy.

With social networking on the rise, many people apparently still have no idea what it is. Scott Monty shares the data recently discovered about social networking and the knowledge people have on the subject (or lack thereof). Social What?

B.L. Ochman never ceases to impress me with her articles. This one surprised me as most internet marketing guru’s these days seem to be strong advocates for every person and business having a blog. Here are her 10 Reasons Your Company Shouldn’t Blog. Not sure I agree fully but I do agree with much of it. I personally love blogging and think it’s beneficial but only if you have the proper know how and can truly add value to your business or yourself (and others).

With the new Facebook rollout, millions have felt compelled to begin some sort of uprising against the layout and Zuckurberg finally acknowledges it and releases a statement.

Apparently I totally missed the memo earlier today, but all over the web it is “Talk Like A Pirate Day”. Mashable has shown us 10 Pirate Sites and Tools to Check Out if yer feelin’ a bit pirate-ish matey!

Those are just a few links, I’ll be sure to share more next week! In the meantime, enjoy!
