If you decide to embark on a social marketing campaign, it pays to have your blog content carefully planned and written but not published before you commence marketing.
Marketing, social marketing included, should be planned with a strategy in place that is leading to a conclusion. For example, if you are planning a product launch, you could commence your marketing prior to the launch. You can plan how you are going to approach each day leading up to the launch, plan what your intend saying (and not revealing), and hopefully create a sense of anticipation prior to the launch.
If your blog content has been pre-written, it can become the platform for the social marketing program. Each days blog post can help set the scene, perhaps releasing a little more information whilst acting as a break on your own enthusiasm.
By incorporating your blog into your social marketing plan you opening the door to more communication channels and a much wider audience. Product launches are just one example. There are many other social marketing opportunities available.
Creating content prior to commencing your social marketing does not prohibit making last minute changes nor does it prevent you from creating extra content should it be required. It does free up a lot of time that can be devoted to the social marketing program itself. It’s all a matter of planning.
